Our recommendations to rent a place in Barcelona. You will be better prepared to choose what is about to become your new home.

Firstly, each neighborhood in Barcelona has a very distinct vibe and a different cultural element to it. Barcelona has a number of neighborhoods to choose from, and there is a neighborhood for everyone.  It all depends on your needs, for instance as an international student,  some neighborhoods have more benefits than others.

Based on the experiences of previous international students, we give you some recommendations of neighborhoods for students.

Recommendations to rent a place in Barcelona

1. EIXAMPLE

The Eixample district is the centre of Barcelona with easy access to any other neighborhood. You will find a wide variety of restaurants and bars suited for students, modern architecture, and great shopping sites.

On one hand, it is extremely easy to get to any neighborhood with a shorter metro or bus ride. On the other hand, it has a lot of well-known shops that will make it feel like home.

Highly recommended if you’re looking forward to seeing all the neighborhoods in Barcelona and have a need for easy transportation services.

2. GOTHIC QUARTER

The Gothic Quarter is the historic “old town” neighborhood of Barcelona and home to the Barcelona Cathedral. Not only is this neighborhood home to the Cathedral, but also home to La Boqueria, Barcelona’s best market, and located conveniently next to lively bars and popular night clubs’ international students enjoy. If your goal of living in Barcelona is to experience the art, architecture, and culture through events while being able to walk to lively bars and nightclubs then this is the neighborhood for you.

3. EL BORN

El Born is one of the most popular and trendiest neighborhoods in Barcelona. This neighborhood has many unique boutiques, fresh markets, and great restaurants for one of a kind tapas. This neighborhood is full of culture, as it used to be filled with mediaeval streets and jousts. If you want to be able to experience the culture and best restaurants in the city while having a trendier and upbeat vibe then this may be the neighborhood for you.

4.Gràcia

Gràcia is the neighborhood where you will be staying with more locals than tourists. While it’s not as conveniently located in the heart of the city, Gràcia neighborhood has many other benefits to living here. This neighborhood is great for a student who is looking to have more of a quiet and safe place, while being situated closely to Gaudi sites. This neighborhood is more affordable and is a great choice for a student who appears to be looking for a more authentic Barcelona living experience.

Moving to Barcelona is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming if you don’t know where to look for a safe place to stay.

Before making the big move, do your research and ask Barcelona Student’s team who is helping students each day to find the right accommodation for them through their housing plans.
